UPLIFT Festival Presents: Focus on Acting and Directing                

Thursday 20th November

The Young Directors Showcase is an evening dedicated to exploring what it means to be a director - and to be directed - across both stage and screen. The event includes a range of engaging workshops, from directing techniques to acting for screen, offering young creatives the chance to develop practical skills and gain insight into the collaborative process. 

The evening culminates in a final performance directed by the Young Directors themselves, followed by a panel discussion featuring the show's director, cast, and a professional industry guest.

This evening includes:

5.30-6.30pm Acting for Screen – with actor Gabriel Howell (Netflix thriller Bodies 2023, How to train a Dragon 2025)

6.30-7.30pm Directing Workshop with a Professional Director (director tbc)

7.45pm Young Directors Performance followed by a Q and A with The Director and The Cast

Please note you must book a space on each event you wish to attend. Make sure to double check that you have the correct tickets in your basket before confirming payment.

Everyone who attends this event gets a free ticket to the Young Directors Showcase performance of The Effect at 7.45pm. If you would like to book a ticket come to The Effect, please see the dedicated page on our website.
