"A line is crossed"

Ulster American

By David Ireland

directed by Stuart Watson

Tuesday 4th - Saturday 8th October

7.45pm  Studio

Three people meet on the eve of rehearsals for a new West End play about the Troubles in Northern Ireland. Hollywood star Jay wants to explore his Irish heritage, director Leigh wants to run the National Theatre, and playwright Ruth wants to meet Quentin Tarantino, but without having to compromise her artistic vision. Three careers could be made – or broken. Then something is said that cannot be unsaid, a line is crossed, and mayhem ensues. Presented here in its London premiere, following acclaimed productions in Edinburgh and Dublin, Ulster American examines issues of cultural identity, abuse of power, and male privilege. It is uncompromising, exhilarating, viciously funny, and not for the faint of heart.

Contains violence. Not suitable for children.

Photography on this website is provided by numerous members over the years. In particular we would like to thank: Ben Copping, Martin Jessop, Rich Evans and Steve Lippett who have contributed so much to capturing our productions in such amazing quality.
